“Hi – I’m Carl, Fundraising Director at Peter Mac and I’ll be taking on the 200km virtual ride this year.

“I’ll miss the opportunity I’ve had in previous years to catch up with participants on event day and hear their inspiring stories face-to-face. But I know our wonderful fundraising community will rise to the occasion once again – motivated by their own particular and often personal experiences of cancer – and deliver much-needed funds for our research teams.

“For everyone who’s uniting with us again, I wholeheartedly thank and salute you! For anyone who’s thinking of being part of UNITE 2020 – please join us, we’d love you to be part of this very special experience.”

– Carl Young, Philanthropy & Fundraising Director, Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation

Your challenge

Your way

Ride 200km in 10 days

Get on your bike and out into the sunshine this October to help beat cancer! In the 10 days between the 15th and 24th, you’ll need to get 200km under your belt – how and when is entirely up to you.

You’ll earn rewards and virtual badges as your fundraised dollars and your kms mount up – and, once you’ve completed your challenge, you’ll feel proud of what you’ve achieved for families facing cancer.

Walk 60km in 10 days

Keen to do something positive and get back into shape in these challenging times? Then step out for Peter Mac this October!

Your goal is 60km in total – that’s 6km a day (around 8,000 steps), but you can cover the distance in any way that suits you. You’ll earn rewards and virtual badges along the way – plus you’ll be part of the very special end-of-challenge buzz, when we can proudly reflect on the difference we’ve made for families facing cancer.

If you’re a seasoned cyclist or experienced walker, how about tackling UNITE 2020 in one or two epic sessions, perhaps with a team from your club? If you’re up for that, let the UNITE support crew know about your plans and we’ll be sure to celebrate your supercharged challenge on social when the time comes!

Take it on as a team

With your mates

Challenge fundraisers are always more fun together, and we could all do with an extra dose of camaraderie in these tough times. Why not unite as a team with your mates and support each other with your fundraising and your training?

With your colleagues

How about rallying your workmates to come together in support of a great cause? Plus, if your company is up for match-funding your team’s fundraising efforts, you could double the contribution you make to cancer research at Peter Mac.

With your club

If you’re part of a cycling or walking club, how about forming a UNITE team with a group of club members? You could dial things up by aiming to complete your distance in one, two or three epic sessions and get some friendly competition going!

“I’ve had my own personal battle with cancer over the last few years – and that’s made me a passionate Peter Mac supporter. I’ll be part of UNITE for as long as I’m able, to give hope to others who face the same fight.”
